SAM has a separate office, Office of Accountability (OA), within the company that deals with all the grievances, concerns or disagreements about issues that are related to environment or society. It has a number of highly skilled project sponsors and project workers who listen, review and tackle the concerns of the project affected communities independently and effectively.
The Director responsibly organizes all Office services, maintains and updates its website, manages its budget. For carrying on all the financial operations seamlessly and providing services independently, the company has given the power to the Director to report directly to the Company's President and CEO.
There Are Two Ways Through Which SAM's Office Provides Its Services:
The office works with the parties to a conflict to help resolve it (available to both project- SAM clients and affected parties)
It can also probe how SAM applied its relevant policies to the SAM- supported project (presented to project – SAM's board, directors and president, as well as affected parties)
The office is abided by the rules and policies of the company to provide these services upon request with an honest and transparent approach.
